PART 3 OF GENDER RESPONSIVE TRAINING TO BE HELD IN GUYANA

The Judicial Reform and Institutional Strengthening (JURIST) Project in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers (CAJO), UN Women and the Judicial Education Institute of Trinidad and Tobago (TTJEI) will conduct Part 3 of the Train-the-Trainer Gender Responsive Adjudication Training for judicial officers from March 22-23, 2018 at the Marriott Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana.

  • Strengthen their capacity to use the Gender Equality Protocols to examine and resolve custody and child support cases in a manner that promotes equality between men and women, including LGBTI individuals and other vulnerable groups;
  • Improve their competence in writing SMART learning objectives for judicial education programme based on at least one area of the Gender Equality Protocol; and
  • Demonstrate that participants had the opportunity to peer review, methods and approaches in achieving SMART objectives that show evidence of attention to learning styles, the learning pyramid and Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Topics to be covered in the training include Custody/Access; Child Maintenance and Judicial Education Techniques.
