JURIST PSC Meeting to be convened

The Canadian-funded Judicial Reform and Institutional Strengthening (JURIST) Project will convene its 8th Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting on Thursday June 4, 2020 from 10 am to 12:30 pm. The Meeting will be held virtually due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

At the Meeting, the Project will seek Members’ approval for its Year 7 Work Plan. Over the past few months, the Project team, has been finalizing the Year 7 Work Plan based on the feedback received from Heads of Judiciary and other stakeholders and is responding swiftly and fully to the pandemic and uncertainties in the environment.

The Project is following both the guidelines provided by the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) and the Government of Canada for keeping personnel safe during the pandemic. The Project recognizes the need for a pivot in its approach to respond to the impact of COVID-19, which will be felt beyond project completion.

The JURIST Project has liaised with Heads of Judiciaries about their needs for an effective COVID-19 response, and has adapted investment thinking, methods, sequencing and scheduling of tasks to support a pivot strategy. The Project’s Annual Work Plan (AWP) and budget will be updated at the mid-year of 2020-21.
